Dear TTU – members.
I Wish you all a good year in 2009 – with much joy and a lot of good traing. I hope you will do a good efford for the clubs further development.
- We have been organized under the name of TTU in more than 10 years already.
- We have members in 4 countries – we are more than 30 clubs and has over 2000 members.
- In addition, there are clubs in several other countries seeking to become a member of the TTU.
This means that TTU philosophy is the right way to practice Taekwondo. But I still think that we are missing some points in the TTU:
- A new book for seniors – where we write about the philosophy, techniques and curriculum.
- Dobok
This year we are 100% sure that the book No. 1 and No. 4 book presses – so that TTU’s members can buy these books at the summerfestival 2009. When it comes to Dobok the current TTU Dobok is nearly equal other martial arts suits. At the same time, it seems that it is difficult to get booked YUDANJA and KODANJA Dobok due to small volume. When clubs want TTU Dobok there has also been difficult to obtain appropriate sizes.
Therefore I will now try to change the TTU Dobok appearance – so that all have equal dress in traditional Korean style. This also applies to covering suit.
These suits appearance comes from General Kim Yeo On (1596 – 1665). His grave was opened in 2001 – and there was found suits and uniforms. I think it is better that we follow the original martial arts style in the suit.
So all TTU – members must use this new suit for training, grading and exhibition.
The Covering suit BAE JA should be used when you go outdoors in Dobok – and in conjunction with exhibition and ceremonies. The suit are going to show us what style we train in Tae Kwon Do.
So my wish is that all member clubs and all members of the TTU start using the new suit. If there are any questions, please contact the Board and the Elder Council. I hope to see you on the Summer Festival on Brandbu and wish all my members good luck further!
Sincerely
Grandmaster Cho.
